The moment you start

When you see how powerful are stories of others who did great viral jumps in their popularity, how it's changed their wealth, happiness... It feels so devastating. But how they're doing this, what makes these giants steps, like a powerful force is pushing them forward. Not so many are sharing exact steps what they did. Whole world is a "Big jungles", where someone is a predator and someone is a food. Part of survival instinct?

When motion designer works on own skills, he or she is thinking something like "I have to be the most skillful animator or artist in my country, in the world", spending million years on software learning, education, experience. And still remains somebody, whom nobody ever heard about. And at the same way unskilled folks in video and design, that have taken a couple of courses on marketing in social media have bounced their personal brand and earnings to the highest imaginable salaries comparable to most junior, mid level motion designers.

Quality is subjective

Are we overachieving with the level that THIS internet is requiring? As usual the answer is yes and no. No we aren't overachieve, doing great things is necessary, continue to do those nice animations. Yes - don't do more than it's needed just do them fast and in high amount. In this case the quality will be limited to what probably looks OKAY, but this Okay level will be much better in comparison to the typical content maker's level. Just increase the number of videos you're doing and at the same time boost greatly the experience with marketing, and social media tools for collecting not just likes, but thoughts and audience relation to your ideas. What is common between good motion designer and good marketer that both are searching for good, interesting, fun, impactful ideas. Competition usually wins marketer, just because the motion designer wasn't participating in the competition.

Good bad social media

Sadly many same like me are dicovering this after spending so much time just by avoiding social media, just because it's a place for sharing beauty stories, muscle show of, memes, and good part of increadibly stupid stuff. But it's a place of attention and place for many to spend time relaxed. This time is perfect for presenting a new brand, usually a personal brand. So, missing this opportunity is a colossal lose in terms of investments. When you don't have money - you can invest your time and simply dance. Dancing cool and have money for targeted ads? Welcome to the club of popularity! But it would be so simple to pay money and earn more with that. No, certainly cool ideas win this game. But cool ideas appearing by selecting the best ones from the river of bad drafts. That's why imagination + creative workflow is the main source of good ideas. All needs time, efficient work and realisation. But the level and taste are subjective matters. Doing more is more beneficial in short.

Productive mood

Another good part of doing more creative videos for a motion designer is building a habbit of creating videos. And another one thing is building a habbit to post it on social media frequently. Even if it's looking awful at your opinion - push it somewhere, it will be just another deep breath for your "digital avatar" in internet. As a life is switching to the internet, it's important to be present there. Lower the expectation and just breath. Create a fresh video just to make it possible to share you thought, idea or some experience. What's the reason of doing this. It's not giving you money or doesn't help anyhow probably you may tell. But it does. The least does Is switching to a creative, productive mood instead of content consuming. By decreasing consuming, you enters into a small world, where there are no distractions, but just your thoughts. Just Imagine statistics tells that regular internet user spend around 2 hours (up to 3.5 hours) by watching youtube, social media posts [1]. By eliminating this habit you'll win 2 hours for something useful, it's +25% of your working time daily (8 hours). It's 91 day a year, simply 3 months of additional efficient time each year. That's how important to be in a productive mood, rather than in a consuming. Moreover it's a constant practice and improvement instead of just thinking about making some stuff and procrastinating.

It's quite impressive numbers even for me personally, because I've just thought more deeply about this problem. Hope it wasn't another teachings for you from my side, just my thoughts. You may not agree and pour out your angry thoughts in a comment section. Or even share this post somewhere in a social media and finally feel good.

The influence of the Internet on ordinary life

I'm just trying to understand why is the road to the productive mood is often closed by such a small obstacle like When you're trying to do something that according to your personal opinion will be the level that is not suitable for an audience? What feeling is this? Are we great stars, that so affraid of making damage to our personal brands that we don't proceed with our creative thought?

Too many questions, but seems like the core of the problem is some kind of fear. And it's present exactly at that moment when you start. But what will be if you will be always in a creative, productive mood without stoping this process. Will we never come back to this hard moment, when it's needed to start again? Maybe It will be a constant creative flow without fears anymore. Why this idea is so cool to me? Maybe it's too perfect for a real world. But still, it can be a working theory. Obviously, it's working already for popular bloggers and personalities. But they was also starting somehow and was doing first steps, but usualy they don't tell about it. Just proposing for you to check their popularity. Sad bad things, but it's the world we live in. Everyone has different starting points, but the final destination is defined by your speed of movement. Your presence in internet is vital and forming many aspects of your real life.

Next time when it will be the moment when you start and having doubts, just remember that your life depends on this current momment. What will you choose: to move forward or to stop because you're still not ready?
