Hi, friend! It's good to see you on MotionDay!
Today I'm searching for a way of restoring or at least improving the way of recovering lost experiences, ideas, memory overall. Medication is making wonders, but I'm interested more in practicing some exercises that may help and teach to store and access information in a proper efficient method.
As any exercise it needs constant repetition to achieve some results. That's why it's crucial to create a plan for recovering forgotten experiences.
it consists of
- Journaling
- Mindmapping
- Meditation and sensory exploration
- Dialogue with your past self
- Object interaction
- Storytelling
Imagine now how big arrays of information are stored in your memory, but most of the time it's not utilized anyhow, which leads to degradation and loss of our potential.
Memory is not just about retrieving information, but also how we use and apply it in a meaningful way. You simply used free space for random garbage and never made use of it. About 95% of information from kindergarten, school and university are just hidden under the curtain of time.
Some people are having more versatile mechanisms of storing the information which helps retrieve it with minimal energy losses. This can lead to significant acceleration in learning and using of what's been learnt.
10 Minutes exercises
Is it too much to spend 10 minutes of our day for something unclear, like Journaling? it's about 9 hours per year overall. Just for putting down all notes you can remember from some event like birthday party, vacation, concert, someone or anything pleasant from your past. Anything that comes to your mind. Just let your mind tell everything without interruptions and editing, free flow of memories. Imagine how you can remember everything in detail by spending 10 minutes on such a focused wandering around some subject. You can spend obviously more if you wish, but most of the time it may be enough to restore the main image, and then several minutes to clear the text and read you memory in a final, clean version.
Mindmapping
Similarly, you can revive the information in a more visual way - by drawing connections from the main word (subject) and its characteristics, synonyms, associations, emotions and memories. This exercise helps practice mind mapping in any project, so next time you'll not have any issues with it. Plus, it can be richer every next round. This can also help define main stress sources of your mood. No stress - less distraction for your memory, better life.
