AI and humanity

It’s passed a week since OpenAI released the information about Sora text-to-video model publicly. Now it’s clearly seen that AI is not only glitchy and sometimes pleasant looking imagery but realistic and physically correct renderings, and videos. Sometimes with minor glitches but overall good materials. At least for preproduction discussion it’s incredibly useful material. Last sentence shows that this model will help us on the way to AGI – to achieve Artificial general intelligence. When AI can learn, understand and think by its own, like a superhuman.

Debates are already for centuries that machines will outperform and eliminate human kind. Even OpenAI sees the existential threat for people in artificial intelligence. But when it will happen?

As we can see, artificial intelligence is already been used in wars and learned to destroy targets. Does AI cares about humans inside these targets? People are targets and AI is just a tool.

Human Nature

Maybe artificial super-mind will be invented soon but the human nature is still based on consuming resources, dividing them without equality. And conflicting till the final dead end. AI is just silently observing. When wars will be over? Depends on the statement of each country. And citizens of each country willing to serve for benefits and interests of their country, society, tribe. AI isn’t a threat by its own. But humanity is. At least its beliefs, weaknesses and fears.
